Structure and Tasks of the Surgical Teaching Group (CAL)

All 10 specialist societies are represented in the Surgical Teaching Group (CAL). This ensures that the interests of all areas of surgery are taken into account, but that surgery is also understood as a unit and thus remains capable of acting as a "major subject". The various focal points are dealt with in the working groups. The management of the working groups is carried out by members of different professional societies. The CAL sees its tasks among other things in:

• the consolidation of the disciplines and the strengthening of surgery
• utilizing the synergy of active clinics and departments
• the synchronisation of activities in the faculties and the FG
• raising awareness of the importance of teaching
• the professionalisation of teaching
