Pre-admission
The pre-admission preparation usually takes place one day before a planned operation. On this day, you will not be admitted to the hospital, but will go through several wards, which serve to optimally prepare for the necessary operation. You will receive an appointment for pre-admission preparation during our consultation. Consultation.
On this day, you should arrive by 8:00 a.m. at the Central Patient Reception (Building 60a Level 1), where the registration formalities will be completed. For this, you need a hospital referral slip from your family doctor as well as your insurance card and an identity card or passport.
You’ll then be led to our pre-admission consultation. You will also find this in House 60a Level 1, Outpatient Clinic of the Clinic for Traumatology. This is where examinations are carried out that are necessary for the preparation of the operation. A doctor will then discuss your medical history with you and explain the procedure of the planned operation. You should bring the following documents with you:
- Previous medical reports
- List of current prescribed medication
- Existing current examination findings (x-rays, laboratory values, etc.)
- Health passports (allergy passport, vaccination card, anticoagulant card, emergency passport, diabetic passport, pacemaker card, anaesthesia passport)
You will then be introduced in the premedication consultation hour at the Clinic for Anaesthesia. Here the anaesthetist will discuss the planned anaesthesia with you.
These examinations take some time, so we would like to ask you to schedule a few hours with us in order to go through the entire pre-admission preparation. You can then go home again before being admitted the next morning.
